Celebrating the year with a bang.......eTwinning Awards 2022

On the 28 of October 2022, 16 projects and 7 schools received recognition at the eTwinning National Awards 2022 by Mr. Matthew Vella, Permanent Secretary, Mr. Grazio Grixti, Director, Ms. Joyce Grech, Assistant Director and Dr. Rose-anne Camilleri eTwinning Coordinator and Education Officer.

This year, Malta boasts the highest number of registered eTwinners in Europe and has the highest number of Schools who have obtained the School Label. eTwinning, as a European vibrant community encourages educators to collaborate, network, develop projects, share good practices and find opportunities for professional development.

The eTwinning Awards Ceremony is an annual event organised by eTwinning Malta within the Directorate for Digital Literacy & Transversal Skills. The awards ceremony gave recognition to the success of both educators and schools in integrating eTwinning in the classroom as a transformative and innovative pedagogy.

eTwinning National Quality Labels are granted to teachers with excellent eTwinning projects that reach a certain national and European standard. The outstanding projects from amongst those obtaining the Quality Label are then awarded during this ceremony.

Before awarding the projects videos of the highlights of each project were featured.

The main categories for the eTwinning National Awards 2022 were:

· Award of Appreciation

· Best National Early Years project

· Best European Early Years project

· Best European Secondary

Awarded Schools – Categories

· Promoting National Language

· Best Innovative Use of ICT Tools

· Best eTwinning School 2021-2022

· Best Whole School Approach

During the ceremony, the eTwinning Ambassadors presented their role and mission in schools and were awarded a token of appreciation.
